How To Avoid The Road On The Road Hole At St Andrews Home Of Golf TV Episode 61

n this episode of HomeofGolf.TV Old Course Caddie John Boyne of CaddieGolfTours.com explains the best way to play your third shot into the green on The Road Hole. The 17th on The Old Course at St Andrews has a thin deceptive green. On the day we filmed this episode the pin had been placed favorably but John told me that was not always the case. He pointed out too that the green has a slight tilt on the right which feeds the ball quite gently down to the pin. Unfortunately if you over cook the ball it can run over the edge and onto the road, which makes for an extremely difficult fourth shot.
