Today HomeofGolf.TV chats to Old Course caddie John Boyne about the best landing area on the Road Hole of The Old Course. He told me it is to the right of the fairway or centre to leave yourself a decent shot to a long thin green. Typically you will be left with 160- 165 yards to the front of the green. John recommends playing a draw and to protect a score there is no harm in playing conservatively to the front of the green with a 7 or 8 iron. It’s crucial that you don’t go too far and end up playing off tarmac!
